Tax Resolution › FAQ
Understand the Letter. Choose Your Next Step.
What to do with an IRS notice, how the Guide helps, and what to expect when you bring the story to the firm.
- What Should I Do When An IRS Letter Arrives?
Keep every page, find the notice code, and check the tax year, amount and response date. Compare it with your records and follow the instructions on that notice. A book purchase or firm consultation does not extend an IRS deadline.
- Can I Handle An IRS Notice Myself?
Some notices ask for a simple comparison or a specific document; others raise questions about tax, payment or appeal rights. Start with the notice and the evidence behind it. The Guide helps you understand the process; individual review or representation is a separate engagement.
- What Does An Enrolled Agent Do?
Enrolled Agents have unlimited practice rights before the IRS, including examinations, appeals and collections. The firm must separately agree to your engagement, and any representation must stay within your authorization. Buying the Guide or completing the consultation does not appoint a representative.
- Why Buy The Guide If I May Hire The Firm?
The Guide connects compliance, planning and resolution, helping you keep better records, understand the choices and ask more useful questions. The $299 Professional Edition hardcover is a reference you can return to. Registered, verified owners can submit one written tax-topic question to the firm's desk. Individual services are agreed separately.
- What Happens In The Free Initial Consultation?
It is an online, self-guided video conversation. Verify your email and answer Paul's questions about your concerns, life changes and tax situation. You may start without buying the book. It collects the story behind your records; it does not include a live appointment or a written case plan.
- Do I Need To Book A Paid Hour To Request Help?
No. You can request written work without booking a paid hour. Tax preparation, research, written deliverables and representation have their own scope and fees. If you choose a live appointment, the booking lane shows the price for your selected date and time; that fee buys only a 60-minute conversation.
